Working across the biotechnology and wider bioeconomy landscape, you will help companies progress ideas from feasibility and proof-of-concept through process development, optimisation and scale-up. Our work has the potential to span food and nutrition, agri-food, life sciences, health, biopharma, biomanufacturing and emerging bio-based industries.

BioConnect is seeking an Applied R&D Senior Scientist – Biotechnology & Bioeconomy to join our laboratory-based team in Monaghan.

This is a hands-on scientific role for someone who wants to apply their expertise to real industry challenges. You will help design and execute laboratory and pilot-scale projects, generate and interpret scientific data, solve technical problems and contribute to delivering high-quality R&D outcomes for BioConnect's industry partners.

Our projects will span the wider bioeconomy and biotechnology landscape, including opportunities across food and nutrition, agri-food, life sciences, health, biopharma, biomanufacturing and other bio-based industries. We are therefore interested in candidates from a range of scientific backgrounds and do not expect one person to have expertise across every sector.
